Kostanjevica na Krki, Gallery Božidar Jakac, installation and activity-shops (co-operation with Žiga Okorn) in the former monastery church, 2004 The gallery in former monastery church is a challenge for artists because it has remarkable history and architecture. Only the size is one of the challenges: inside space is 40 meters long and 22 meters wide. Its height is 15 meters. Our installation was based on the rich religious tradition of iconography and especially on Cistercian relationship to the icons and also it was connected to the contemporary overflow of images and their connection to the archetipes and religion. Therefore from the nave visitor couldn't see any images. Big pictures, which were installed to the east, west, south and north, were turned toward the walls and windows. They were very high and they emphasized the vertical orientation of the architecture. Painted images were connected to the imagery of different religious archetipes. Visitors could see the pictures only from very close because of their orientation. Behind the pictures there were also sculptures.
