Izvirnik (roman)

2018, release of the novel Izvirnik, publisher Mladinska knjiga, Ljubljana The novel "Izvirnik" (Origin or Source) evolved from a concept initially conceived as a partially theoretical text on avant-gardes and partially as the "Richard Mutt Agency" project, a part of which I presented at the "From-Open" exhibition at Equrna Gallery. The novel tells the stories of several generations of thinkers and artists whose paths intertwine and intersect at certain points. It draws on a postmodernist form, where real historical events intersect with events that are not well-documented, leaving room for various speculations. In the novel, the pseudonym Marcel Duchamp, under which he signed his famous work "Fountain" (R. Mutt), becomes a real person and one of the important protagonists in the book. The book also delves into artistic projects that were actually carried out in reality, accessible through the website http://richardmuttagency.weebly.com/. The novel was selected as a finalist for the most important literary award for fiction in Slovenia, the Kresnik Award. close window
